Project Director for AI Study

Job Summary

Providing strategic and operational leadership for the AI Century Study, the full-time Project Director will guide interdisciplinary teams, manage partnerships, and ensure high-quality evidence production regarding the long-term impacts of AI on human development and society, with the flexibility to work remotely within the U.S.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic vision and intellectual leadership of the AI Century Study, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Lead the full research lifecycle, including data governance, ethics, and quality assurance across all study components
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with external partners, funders, and stakeholders to enhance the study's reach and impact

Required qualifications

• PhD with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 11 years of experience in related fields
• Proven record of directing large-scale, multi-year research projects with a focus on study design and implementation
• At least 5 years of experience managing complex research initiatives across multiple sectors
• Demonstrated success in building and sustaining cross-sector partnerships for long-term research agendas
• Experience with longitudinal studies and translating research findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences
