Property and Casualty Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriter, Property and Casualty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review applications for acceptability within program guidelines and refer accounts to Carrier as needed
• Negotiate pricing and forms specific to individual risk characteristics and present quotes to brokers
• Issue policies, process endorsements, and review accounts for profitability at renewal

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of Property and Casualty underwriting experience
• Solid understanding of insurance and underwriting terms, definitions, and processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Four-year college degree in insurance, business administration, actuarial science, or management strongly preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
