Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team and manage communications with agents and insureds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage incoming phone calls and correspondence from agents and insureds regarding submissions and processing requests
  • Assist Underwriters with obtaining and evaluating documents to determine risk and appropriate placement
  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure policies are issued correctly and premiums are managed properly
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in an underwriting department or similar customer support role in an insurance company; college degree preferred
  • Completion of insurance-related coursework is beneficial
  • Willingness to work towards Property and Casualty Producer license within 1 year of hire
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in a Windows-based environment and Microsoft Office applications
