Job Summary
A company is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team and manage communications with agents and insureds.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage incoming phone calls and correspondence from agents and insureds regarding submissions and processing requests
- Assist Underwriters with obtaining and evaluating documents to determine risk and appropriate placement
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure policies are issued correctly and premiums are managed properly
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in an underwriting department or similar customer support role in an insurance company; college degree preferred
- Completion of insurance-related coursework is beneficial
- Willingness to work towards Property and Casualty Producer license within 1 year of hire
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in a Windows-based environment and Microsoft Office applications
