Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Protection and Control Engineer will design high-quality protection schemes for T&D substations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
Key responsibilities
- Develop protection and control designs for various T&D substations, including one-lines and AC/DC schematics
- Conduct peer reviews of design documents and coordinate with electrical layout engineers and commissioning teams
- Perform design calculations and create procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Familiarity with IEC 61850 process and system bus architecture for substations
- Knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP and Aspen Oneliner
- Understanding of NERC-CIP standards and guidelines for Cyber Security and Grid Interconnection
- Experience in technical problem-solving related to protection and control design
