Job Summary

To support media professionals in the Middle East and North Africa, the contracted Psychosocial Safety Trainer will provide psychosocial safety expertise, risk assessment, and mitigation planning remotely, focusing on journalists and media organizations at risk of psychosocial threats.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial risk assessments and mitigation planning sessions tailored to the needs of individuals and organizations
  • Collaborate with support service providers and program staff to ensure an integrated approach to safety
  • Provide follow-up mentoring and support, along with reporting and updates to program staff as needed
Required qualifications
  • Master's, PsyD, or PhD in Psychology or equivalent qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in psychosocial safety support, including trauma and crisis interventions
  • Expertise in conducting risk assessments and developing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Experience training and mentoring at-risk individuals or organizations on psychosocial safety
  • In-depth knowledge of the journalism sector and safety needs of media practitioners
