Job Summary

A company is looking for a Public Benefit Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and coordinate application processes for uninsured/under-insured patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or financial assistance
  • Communicate effectively with patients to gather necessary documentation and follow up on submitted applications
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and develop relationships with Medicaid caseworkers and revenue cycle departments
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in patient financial interactions
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle processes including admissions, billing, and payments
  • Knowledge of patient insurance processes, including authorizations and benefits verification
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT, or procedure codes
  • High School Diploma or GED; a combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered
