Job Summary

A company is looking for a Public Benefit Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assess eligibility for state Medicaid benefits and financial assistance programs for uninsured/under-insured patients
  • Coordinate application processes and follow up on submissions to ensure timely billing and adjustments
  • Maintain working knowledge of state and federal program requirements and collaborate with Medicaid caseworkers and revenue cycle departments
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with hospital financial issues
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials
  • Knowledge of patient insurance processes, including authorizations and benefits verification
  • Familiarity with health insurance requirements and medical terminology or CPT codes
  • High School Diploma or GED; relevant post-secondary education may be considered in lieu of a degree
