Job Summary

A company is looking for a Public Benefit Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview uninsured/under-insured patients to determine eligibility for state Medicaid benefits or financial assistance programs
  • Coordinate and assist with application processes, ensuring accurate submissions and timely follow-ups
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and document all relevant actions in patient accounting systems
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with hospital financial issues
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle processes including admission, billing, payments, and denials
  • Knowledge of patient insurance processes, including authorizations and benefits verification
  • High School Diploma or GED; relevant post-secondary education may be considered
  • Certification as a CRCR within 9 months of hire
