Job Summary

A company is looking for a Public Benefit Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview uninsured/under-insured patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or Financial Assistance programs
  • Coordinate application processes and follow up on submitted applications for timely billing adjustments
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and develop relationships with Medicaid caseworkers
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with hospital financial issues
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle processes including admissions, billing, and payments
  • Knowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verification
  • High School Diploma or GED; combination of education and experience may be considered
  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company paid)
