Job Summary
Bridging public health practice and engineering, the full-time remote Public Health Informatician will manage the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of end-to-end public health data flows, including electronic lab reporting and case reporting, while ensuring effective data ingestion and analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot data flows for electronic lab reporting, electronic case reporting, and immunization data
- Resolve jurisdiction onboarding challenges and support national case notification processes
- Coordinate with engineering and public health experts to align system workflows with operational realities
Required qualifications
- Master of Public Health, health informatics degree, or equivalent applied experience
- Hands-on experience with HL7v2 message construction and troubleshooting in public health systems
- Direct experience supporting state or local health department data operations
- Working knowledge of public health vocabulary standards (LOINC, SNOMED CT)
