Job Summary
To shape the future of cloud and AI infrastructure policy in the South, the full-time salaried Public Policy Manager, South will represent AWS before state and local policymakers, focusing on data center infrastructure policy and promoting cloud adoption across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing government affairs advocacy objectives and public policy priorities for AWS in the designated Southern states
- Lead advocacy efforts on data center infrastructure policy specifically in Mississippi and Louisiana
- Facilitate high-level meetings between AWS executives and key stakeholders to promote the company's public policy positions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Law, Political Science, or Public Policy
- 7+ years of experience in public policy, government relations, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of advocacy and public policy development related to technology issues
- Experience working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at various levels
