Job Summary
Supporting the National Institutes of Health, the full-time remote Linux System Administrator will administer and optimize enterprise Linux operating systems while ensuring security and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux operating systems including RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux
- Implement security architecture and Zero Trust principles to maintain secure Linux server environments
- Develop automation solutions using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools to enhance operational efficiency
Required qualifications
- Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain one
- B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience administering enterprise Linux environments
- Experience with enterprise infrastructure engineering, automation, virtualization, and cloud technologies
- Preferred certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Security+, Linux+, GCUX, or CISSP
