Pulaar-English Interpreter

Job Summary

To support communication across diverse industries, the part-time Pulaar-English Interpreter will handle on-demand phone calls, rendering accurate interpretations between Pulaar and English speakers while working remotely from home.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and conduct interpretations in a professional manner
• Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions
• Maintain a professional demeanor during calls, especially in high-stress situations such as emergency calls

Required qualifications

• Fluency in Pulaar and English with cultural competency
• Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation preferred
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for accurate interpretation
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
