Purchasing Director

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership, the full-time salaried Purchasing Director will oversee the centralization of the purchasing function, develop sourcing strategies, and enhance operational performance while ensuring cost efficiency in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the purchasing organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiencies
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and oversee daily purchasing operations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 15 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management, preferably in the clinical or pharmaceutical industry
• Proven success in building strategic supplier partnerships and leading change management initiatives
• Deep knowledge of outsourcing cost drivers and experience with contracts and accounting
• Expertise in designing and implementing purchasing processes and leveraging technology for efficiency
