QA Lead - Data Testing

Job Summary

Leading hands-on QA efforts for a large-scale data engineering and analytics initiative, the remote QA Lead - Data Testing will focus on back-end data testing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data quality while mentoring a small QA team and establishing testing practices across modern cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead QA efforts for data engineering solutions, focusing on data quality and business-rule validation
• Write and execute SQL-based test cases for complex datasets and perform source-to-target reconciliation
• Establish a new QA workstream and support the transition from manual testing to automation

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of QA experience with a background in data warehouse, ETL/ELT, and back-end data testing
• Advanced SQL skills for writing queries and creating test cases for data validation and reconciliation
• Strong experience with Snowflake and modern data platforms like Databricks and Azure Data Factory
• Experience with source-to-target mapping and modern data architectures including bronze, silver, and gold layers
• Familiarity with test automation and technologies such as Streamlit, Python/PyTest, and CI/CD
