Q'eqchi' Interpreter

Job Summary

To support language access initiatives, the remote Q'eqchi' Interpreter will provide freelance interpreting services, set their own schedule, and accept appointments based on availability in a contract role.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services in Q'eqchi' and English across various settings, including medical, legal, and educational
• Manage appointment scheduling and availability to meet client needs during designated hours
• Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability while working independently or as part of a team

Required qualifications

• Fluency in English and Q'eqchi' with understanding of idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances
• Previous interpreting experience, preferably in relevant fields such as medical, legal, or educational
• High School Diploma or equivalent; certification in interpreting or related fields is preferred
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the US
• Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and ability to adapt to various work environments
