Qualitative Research Associate

Job Summary

To identify emerging trends and narratives in online discourse, the full-time Research Associate will conduct qualitative research across social media platforms and synthesize findings into actionable insights, working remotely through November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct open-ended qualitative research on social media platforms and online communities to identify relevant trends and audience attitudes
• Track discourse across various platforms, developing a real-time understanding of shifting conversations
• Synthesize qualitative findings into clear deliverables such as memos and presentations for non-technical audiences

Required qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional experience in a digital media environment or as a researcher
• Deep familiarity with social media platforms and understanding of content dissemination and subculture communication
• Strong research instincts with the ability to identify meaningful insights
• Exceptional written communication skills for translating complex findings into clear narratives
• Interest in progressive causes, including experience with political campaigns or public interest groups
