Job Summary
To support a federal government client, the full-time Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer will utilize programming languages to implement and test cryptographic algorithms, advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration, and collaborate with teams to communicate quantum risks in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java
- Advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies
- Assess organizational cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities while providing policy inputs aligned with NIST PQC standards
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography, or a Master's degree in a related field may substitute for up to 2 years of experience
- Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, and quantum information theory
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages and frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, and Microsoft Quantum Development Kit
- Knowledge of existing cryptographic standards and frameworks, including NIST and ISO/IEC 19790
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Security
