Quantum Resident

Job Summary

Investigating quantum computing methods in chemistry, the full-time Quantum Resident will work remotely to produce a public technical assessment and potentially a peer-reviewed publication, collaborating with engineering and AI-simulation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and extend quantum computing methods in chemistry and their applications to Large Quantitative Models
• Benchmark against classical methods to identify limitations and strengths
• Collaborate with internal scientists and external academics, translating findings for diverse audiences

Required Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently completed a PhD in physics, chemistry, computational mathematics, electrical/computer engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated research experience with near-term quantum algorithms for electronic structure
• Proficiency in Python and at least one quantum SDK (e.g., Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq)
• Evidence of independent research output, such as peer-reviewed publications or preprints
• Experience producing quantum resource estimates and assessing practical feasibility
