Radiation Oncology Medical Director

Job Summary

As a key member of the utilization management team, the full-time or part-time Radiation Oncology Medical Director will serve as a physician match reviewer for cases requiring specialty reviews, engage in peer-to-peer discussions with requesting physicians, and ensure compliance with medical review guidelines in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the physician match reviewer for Radiation Oncology and imaging cases that require specialty reviews
• Conduct peer-to-peer discussions with ordering providers, providing clinical rationale for determinations
• Ensure documentation of all communications with medical office staff and maintain compliance with relevant guidelines

Required qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS with active board certification in Radiation Oncology
• Minimum of five years' experience in the practice of medicine, with active clinical practice within the last two years preferred
• Current, unrestricted clinical license in medicine or required specialty
• Proficiency in computer skills and a passion for quality healthcare
• No history of major disciplinary or legal action by a state medical board
