Radiology Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote Radiology Coding Specialist will review outpatient diagnostic and ancillary services documentation, ensuring accurate and timely coding of charges for professional and facility services while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze medical records to assign codes from patient records according to ICD-10-CM and/or CPT, HCPCS coding classification systems
• Review patient encounters for accurate code assignment and resolve claim and billing edits by performing second reviews of medical record documentation
• Communicate with department management regarding coding, compliance, and documentation issues, while seeking clarification from healthcare providers as needed

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of diagnostic radiology coding experience
• Certification such as RCC, CPC, or CCS-P or equivalent
• Experience with 3M coding software is a plus
• Ability to maintain a production rate of 90% or higher and audit scores of 95% or better
• Moderate knowledge of CCI edits and LCDs, as well as experience coding various radiology modalities
