Job Summary
As a senior technical authority, the full-time R&D Nuclear Engineer specializing in Computational Materials will advance high fidelity, multiphysics simulations for nuclear fuel systems, either remotely or on-site at the BWXT Innovation Campus in Lynchburg, VA.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and application of advanced multiphysics models for nuclear fuel performance
- Develop and implement constitutive models for fuel material behavior and degradation mechanisms
- Conduct high fidelity analyses of nuclear fuel systems under various operating conditions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience; an advanced degree may substitute for experience
- Demonstrated experience with multiphysics modeling and computational materials science tools
- In-depth understanding of nuclear fuel materials behavior and chemical interactions
- Proficiency in scientific programming languages such as FORTRAN, Python, C, or C++
