Referral Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

Referral Authorization Specialist is a full-time position responsible for processing and documenting referral or prior authorization requests, providing customer support for clinical areas and patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee data entry and completion of referral forms, ensuring insurance pre-authorization is obtained
• Manage correspondence with patients, physicians, and insurance companies while documenting relevant information
• Collaborate with Patient Financial Services to enhance the Revenue Cycle process and improve Managed Care communication

Required Qualifications

• Preferred education from an accredited school in Business or two years of college in a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance within a medical-related field
• Demonstrated experience with insurance requirements for referrals and prior authorizations
• Preferred credentials include Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications
