Referral Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Referral Specialist who coordinates and performs all aspects of the patient referral process.

Key Responsibilities

• Enters referral orders in electronic health record (EHR) and submits to the authorization team for approval
• Coordinates patient appointments and communicates appointment details to patients
• Monitors referrals and responds to incoming patient calls related to referrals

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical office, hospital, or medical call center required
• Familiarity with standard concepts and practices within the field
• Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
