Referral Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Referral Specialist to coordinate patient referrals and scheduling for a specific medical specialty.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the central point of contact for all medical office activities related to patient referrals
• Critically evaluate incoming referrals and oversee scheduling for appropriate specialties
• Provide information on scheduling policies and serve as the main contact for new patient referrals

Required Qualifications

• Six years of related work experience, with four years in the same job family at a lower level, or an Associate's degree with four years of experience
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Experience in a high-volume healthcare-related call center or medical practice is preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with electronic medical record systems
• Proven record of exemplary attendance and reliability
