Job Summary

To support patient care coordination, the fully remote Referral Specialist Arizona will manage the referral and authorization process for specialty services, ensuring patients receive necessary approvals and scheduling appointments after completing a mandatory one-week onsite training in Prescott, AZ.

Key responsibilities

• Completes the referral process by checking insurance coverage, obtaining approvals, and scheduling appointments for specialty services
• Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance carriers to resolve pre-certification and registration concerns
• Utilizes Cerner EMR systems for patient registration, scheduling, and managing patient information while ensuring co-pays are collected accurately

Required qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical office or healthcare environment
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Outlook
• Basic computer hardware skills for setting up minimal workstations
• Experience with referral processing and authorizations is preferred
