Job Summary
Serving as the central point of contact for all medical office activities related to patient referrals, the full-time remote Referral Specialist in Connecticut will critically evaluate incoming referrals, coordinate scheduling for ambulatory referrals, and provide essential information to patients and referring providers.
Key responsibilities
- Oversees the coordination and scheduling of patient referrals for specific specialties
- Acts as the primary contact for new patient referrals, providing information on scheduling policies and procedures
- Manages patient interactions with a high volume of calls while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Required qualifications
- High school diploma and six years of related work experience, or an Associate's degree with four years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume healthcare call center or medical practice
- Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical record systems
- Exemplary attendance, punctuality, and reliability record
- Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally
