Job Summary

Serving as the central point of contact for all medical office activities related to patient referrals, the full-time remote Referral Specialist in Connecticut will critically evaluate incoming referrals, coordinate scheduling for ambulatory referrals, and provide essential information to patients and referring providers.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversees the coordination and scheduling of patient referrals for specific specialties
  • Acts as the primary contact for new patient referrals, providing information on scheduling policies and procedures
  • Manages patient interactions with a high volume of calls while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma and six years of related work experience, or an Associate's degree with four years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume healthcare call center or medical practice
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical record systems
  • Exemplary attendance, punctuality, and reliability record
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally
