Job Summary

To support the referral lifecycle, the full-time remote Referral Support Specialist will manage pre-processing and intake functions for patient care requests, ensuring accurate documentation, indexing, and validation prior to Referral Coordinator review.

Key responsibilities
  • Review and sort high-volume incoming faxes, identifying urgency and routing documents appropriately
  • Index incoming documentation in OnBase and/or Epic systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy of required elements
  • Communicate with referring offices to resolve issues with missing or misrouted information, providing education on submission requirements
Required qualifications
  • One year of experience in a medical office setting with high-volume direct patient contact, or one and a half years in a public contact position plus 6 months in a medical office
  • Thorough knowledge of PAS policies and procedures, with advanced user skills in PAS and integrated care
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and online scheduling
  • Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and documentation
