Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Refund Dispute Specialist will process incoming payer refund requests, research disputes, and collaborate with staff to resolve payer trends while adhering to state and federal regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Reverses or completes necessary adjustments to ensure daily goals for cash collections and accounts receivable
- Reviews remittance advices and insurance contracts to determine the appropriateness of refunds or disputes
- Creates and submits payer dispute letters and coordinates with intake and billing departments for resolution
Required qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required; some college preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in revenue cycle management with knowledge of various reimbursement types
- Familiarity with automated billing systems; experience with CPR+ and Waystar is a plus
- Understanding of ICD 9/10, CPT, HCPCS coding, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with typing speed of 40+ WPM
