Registered Nurse Auditor

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and experienced, the remote Registered Nurse Auditor will support revenue integrity efforts by performing charge audits and billing validation, ensuring accurate and compliant billing practices while collaborating with clinical and revenue cycle teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive charge audits for inpatient and outpatient services, reviewing itemized billing statements against medical records
• Analyze audit findings to determine root causes and maintain accurate documentation, submitting actionable audit findings to revenue cycle teams
• Collaborate with coding, billing, and clinical departments to provide guidance on documentation requirements and support education efforts to prevent recurring audit issues

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or LPN license
• 5+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in ICU, ED, OR, or acute care
• Experience in charge audits, chart reviews, and billing validation
• Strong understanding of medical record documentation and hospital billing processes
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding basics and familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing guidelines
