Regulatory Affairs Director
Job Summary
Leading the regulatory strategy for environmental and energy matters, the remote Regulatory Affairs Director will manage compliance initiatives, advise on state and federal laws, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and support market growth.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead the regulatory legal strategy to support commercialization and manufacturing expansion while identifying regulatory risks
- Advise on environmental laws and regulatory compliance applicable to manufacturing operations and provide legal support for air permitting
- Monitor and interpret legislation and regulations affecting distributed energy resources, advising business leaders on legal implications
Required qualifications
- J.D. preferred with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 15+ years of legal experience with significant expertise in environmental, energy, utility, or regulatory law
- Strong knowledge of environmental permitting and energy regulation
- Familiarity with the Inflation Reduction Act and related requirements
- Experience advising technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, or energy companies preferred
