Reimbursement Specialist

Job Summary

Resolving outstanding insurance claims, the full-time Reimbursement Specialist will ensure timely and accurate reimbursement while managing accounts receivable and processing insurance appeals in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned accounts receivable by following up with insurance companies to secure expected reimbursement
• Process insurance appeals, including submission, tracking, and evaluating outcomes for improvement
• Research and respond to patient and payor inquiries related to billing issues and claim status

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, with laboratory billing experience preferred
• Proficiency with laboratory billing platforms or similar clinical billing systems
• Strong working knowledge of healthcare billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and insurance practices
• High School diploma or general education degree required; related coursework or education preferred
