Reinsurance Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Leading reinsurance accounting operations, the full-time remote Reinsurance Accounting Manager will manage month-end close activities, oversee complex transactions, and ensure accurate financial reporting while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee reinsurance accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review reinsurance reports for brokers, management, and auditors, ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements
• Drive process improvements and develop accounting procedures, enhancing controls and reporting workflows

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant accounting and/or finance experience, preferably in property and casualty insurance accounting
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and statutory insurance accounting rules
• Prior experience in team management and leadership
• Strong understanding of state regulatory statutes and statutory reporting requirements
