Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Reinsurance Accounting Specialist will administer reinsurance treaties, prepare and analyze accounting transactions, and ensure compliance with accounting policies while collaborating with third-party reinsurers.
Key responsibilities
- Perform reinsurance accounting activities, including maintaining and reconciling General Ledger accounts in compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare financial footnote information for SEC, GAAP, and statutory reporting, and communicate trends and discrepancies to management
- Conduct quality assurance checks on journal entries and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness and accuracy
Required qualifications
- 2 - 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
- CPA certification is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
