Reinsurance Catastrophe Modeler

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated Reinsurance Catastrophe Modeler, the full-time remote position will utilize catastrophe models to assess and quantify risks in the Property Cat reinsurance portfolio while collaborating with the actuarial pricing team to support underwriting and management decisions.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze and model complex reinsurance treaties using industry-standard catastrophe models
• Prepare, validate, and quality-assure exposure data for input into catastrophe models
• Execute catastrophe models, interpret results, and provide risk assessments to underwriters

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in catastrophe modeling within the reinsurance industry
• Proficiency in at least one major catastrophe modeling platform (e.g., Verisk Touchstone, RMS RiskLink)
• Strong understanding of reinsurance principles and treaty structures
• Experience with data manipulation and analysis using software such as SQL, R, or Python
