Release of Information Specialist
Job Summary
To support a growing mental healthcare practice, the full-time Release of Information Specialist will process and respond to medical record requests, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Process, log, and respond to inbound medical record requests from clients, payors, and other valid requesters within required timeframes
- Review and validate request documents and ensure all releases are accurate and compliant with relevant laws
- Communicate with clients and requesters to clarify information and assist with their records needs
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Release of Information or medical records management
- Health information management education and/or credentials are a plus
- Proficiency in navigating EMRs and ticketing software
- Experience in mental/behavioral health is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on process improvement
