Remote Academic Librarian

Job Summary

Providing virtual reference services, the part-time Remote Academic Librarian will assist learners, faculty, and staff in utilizing library resources, while promoting effective library services and maintaining instructional materials.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver reference and research services to support student development and achievement of learning outcomes
• Assist users in navigating library databases and online resources through various communication methods
• Maintain and update library instruction resources and participate in team training and professional development

Required qualifications

• Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited institution
• One to three years of relevant reference librarian experience in an academic library preferred
• Strong commitment to customer service and experience working with adult learners
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
• Familiarity with library research and online searching techniques
