Job Summary

A metropolitan daily newspaper is in need of a Remote Arts and Entertainment Assistant Editor in El Segundo.

Must be able to:

• Work with the newsroom’s culture staff to assign, edit and publish stories on a variety of subjects
• Edit stories; collaborate with reporters, critics and columnists to find fresh angles on important cultural topics
• Write intriguing headlines and work with audience team on smart publishing strategies for each piece

Qualifications Include:

• Five or more years of editing experience
• Strong news judgment
• Adept at surveying the cultural landscape online
• Well-versed in (or at least curious about) various realms of arts and culture
• Ability to accommodate occasional night and weekend work
