Job Summary
A non-profit health care organization needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Associate General Legal Counsel.
Must be able to:
- Provide legal guidance to all company stakeholders and divisions
- Respond to legal requests from various stakeholders and divisions of the company, identify, assess and monitor legal risks, ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, industry standards and applicable laws and regulations
- Assist in litigation management, and work collaboratively with company stakeholders to ensure legal awareness and effective decision-making
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Juris Doctor (JD) law degree from an accredited law school
- 3 years of healthcare experience in a law firm, governmental agency or in-house legal department (or combination thereof)
- Significant experience in and understanding of healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory issue spotting, corporate governance, research, analysis, and guidance
- Demonstrated willingness to go the extra mile, set priorities and see projects to completion
- Admission to the State Bar of Oregon OR at least one State Bar Admission (in good standing) AND the ability to gain admission to Oregon Bar or otherwise meet any applicable in-house counsel practice rules within one year of hire
