Job Summary

We are seeking experienced transcribers who can transcribe at least 2.5 hours of video/audio per week. The video/audio file lengths vary from 30 minutes to 2+ hours. Weekenders are needed: Thursday, Friday, Saturdays.

We request that you are a resident of the US or Canada.

Requirements:
*Ability to listen and transcribe busy videos
*Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills
*Ability to Google search correct spelling of unknown words or names
*Ability to transcribe verbatim dialogue, "uhs, or, ums," included
*Ability to dive right into the work with minimum direction
*Self-motivator
*Type at least 50 wpm
*Ability to follow required guidelines, procedures and formats
*You should be knowledgeable in plugging in the start timecode into your transcription software. We do have a training video available for this step.
*Ability to meet strict deadlines
*Microsoft Word
*High-speed internet access
*Previous experience with transcription software(s), such as Express Scribe
*Familiarity with accessing cloud storage applications; i.e. Dropbox or box

This is a remote position.

**A word of note: As an IC (independent contractor) you are hired on a project to project basis. We cannot guarantee a minimum of work. There are days that we may have more work than transcribers signed up and other days where we have more transcribers than work available. We need to have a steady, successful team on hand not only for our busy seasons but for future anticipated projects.

We welcome beginner transcribers to apply, however, the work may be a difficult task to undertake. This is challenging work.


Rate of pay is equivalent to $15.00 - $33.00 per hour depending on your Transcription Turnaround Time (TAT)
