Job Summary

A technology company specializing in internet connectivity is filling a position for a Remote Bare Metal Provisioning Principal Engineer.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Mentoring, coaching, and growing more junior engineers and being a boat-raiser for engineering in general
  • Developing qualification test frameworks and automation for incoming hardware systems
  • Contributing to, and participating in, our open source software projects and community

Skills and Requirements Include:

  • 7+ years of experience in software and systems engineering
  • Experience translating reported issues, defects, enhancements, etc., into actionable software development requirements; preference given to candidates with experience managing open source projects and communities
  • Expertise with BIOS, BMCs, UEFI and PXE boot
  • Experience with Docker, QEMU/KVM, expertise in linux
  • Proficiency in programming, specifically golang, python, and bash
  • Ability to identify problems (and subsequently drive resolution) for issues found in Windows, VMWare ESXi, Linux and Linux kernels, drivers, BIOS, and BMC firmware
