Job Summary

A provider of telehealth and language services is in need of a Remote Bilingual Somali English Video Interpreter.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Completing video and platform training and passing the internal readiness check before taking live calls
• Providing effective video remote interpreting service for consumers
• Participating in ongoing quality assurance and call monitoring programs

Position Requirements Include:

• Fluent and have strong verbal communication skills in both the source and target language
• 2-5+ years of community/medical interpreting experience
• Credentialed in medical interpreting (ie: Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training, 40 hour accredited medical courses)
• Certifications such as those endorsed by NCHI and NBCMI: CCHI or CMI respectively
• Understanding of our LEP clients, culture, dialect and beliefs and preferences as it relates to legal/medical care
• Extensive knowledge of code of ethics, standards of practice, and privacy laws
