Job Summary
A regionalized healthcare provider has a current position open for a Remote Billing and Coding Specialist II in Albuquerque.
Must be able to:
- Respond to billing inquiries from patients and third-party payers
- Consult with Physicians and other clinical staff to clarify documentation and interpret clinical information
- Act as a coding resource to clinical staff
Skills and Requirements Include:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years of previous medical coding and billing experience
- Proven skill in making appropriate decisions to benefit patients and meet company objectives
- Ability to verify accuracy of diagnosis and CPT codes on Encounters
- Ability to approve claims each day in Practice Management software
- Ability to verify patient accountability by ensuring all other payment avenues have been exhausted
