Remote Burmese and Karen Interpreter

Job Summary

To facilitate language communication for the Limited English Proficient community, the International Audio/Video Remote Burmese and Karen Interpreter will handle audio and video calls on demand while working remotely as an independent contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective audio and video interpreting through a web-based platform
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
• Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct and maintain confidentiality standards

Required qualifications

• Full fluency in English, Burmese, and Karen
• Proficient in technology, including web-based platforms and Microsoft Word
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry-specific certifications or training preferred (e.g., CMI, CCHI)
• A quiet and secure interpreting space free from outside noises
