Katie's Kitty of New York City is an exclusive boutique style pet sitting company on the Upper East Side of Manhattan since 1997. We offer pet boarding for cats and other small animals in our many host family homes throughout NYC.
We are now adding new cat caretakers to the Katie's Kitty team who reside in Manhattan and Queens. Boarding assignments generally average from one week to two months. Some clients prefer that caretakers visit their cat in the client's home once or twice a day, and the location would always be close to your residence.
Job Requirements
Love animals
No pets live in your home (exceptions on case by case basis)
Experience caring for cats
Work at home - or are retired
Keep a clean, attractive, pet-friendly home
Live in Manhattan or Queens
Able to board on holidays and during the spring and summer
Nice to Have
Training and experience performing basic medical needs, such as insulin or subcutaneous injections, asthmatic inhalers, bandage application and other simple procedures.
Experience with animal behavior and training issues
Experience with small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish, reptiles and other animals.
Most of all, you must have a sterling work ethic. Caretaking is a position of responsibility and trust, and we will carefully evaluate your character and capability to care for animals. You must be attentive, careful and trustworthy in all respects. Plus, it helps if you understand cats' special need to be in a secure and relatively quiet environment.
