Job Summary
Leading the actuarial team, the full-time Remote Certified Actuary Director will oversee all actuarial work for health plans, including rate adequacy and claims reserving, while providing strategic guidance and ensuring the implementation of cost modeling tools.
Key responsibilities
- Accountable for health plan pricing and claims reserving, serving as the actuarial market lead
- Directs the monthly financial close process and establishes appropriate reserves for care expense liabilities
- Collaborates with local and corporate leadership to interpret emerging care expense results and improve forecasted medical expenses
Required qualifications
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation required
- 10+ years of relevant actuarial experience with a focus on managed health care plans
- 5+ years of management experience required
- Experience with claims reserving techniques and premium rate development
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics required
