Remote Coder III

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Remote Coder III, the candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely assignment of ICD 10 CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes, payment group classification, and data abstraction for reimbursement and statistical reporting across various patient records.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and interpret patient records to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
• Perform coding and abstracting tasks to ensure data quality and support statistical reporting
• Utilize coding systems to calculate inpatient encounters and sequence codes accurately

Required qualifications:

• College degree in Health Information Management or completion of an AHIMA-approved certificate program
• One year of coding experience in an acute care setting, specifically with Inpatient, Observation, Emergency Medicine, or Same Day Surgery
• Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Technology is preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
