Job Summary
A for-profit health care organization that owns and operates hospitals and surgery centers throughout the U.S. is seeking a Remote Coding Operations Director in Brentwood.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Develop strategic coding and HIM communication and education plans
- Manage the development of coding and HIM content-specific, competency-based, and operational based communication
- Manage the delivery of communication and coding and HIM training to various groups
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred
- Must hold at least one certification in either: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician (CCS-P) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
- OR RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) through AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association)
- OR AAPC's (American Academy of Professional Coders) Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) credential or Certified Professional Coder – Hospital (CPC-H®)
- Five years of experience in E/M and surgical coding plus reimbursement activities is required
- A clinical background and previous chart abstraction experience is preferred
