Remote Coding Quality Educator

Job Summary

Ensuring the accuracy and quality of coding practices, the full-time Remote Coding Quality Reviewer Educator will conduct reviews of clinical documentation and coding processes while educating staff on best practices and updates in coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of clinical documentation and coding to ensure compliance with national standards and regulatory guidelines
• Educate and train coding staff on best practices and updates to enhance coding performance and revenue cycle efficiency
• Ensure the integrity and quality of coding practices within the Health Information Management department

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in coding, with 6-10 years preferred
• Proficiency in coding inpatient accounts, ICD-10, PCS coding, and/or complex outpatient coding
• Previous clinical experience in Nursing is a plus
• High School diploma or GED required; Technical/Vocational School preferred
• One or more relevant certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CCA, CCC, CIRCC, or CCVTC required
