Remote Coding Quality Reviewer
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Internal Quality Control Director, the full-time Remote IP Quality Reviewer will assess and review medical record documentation for coding and abstracting accuracy using ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT coding systems, while entering findings into proprietary tracking software.
Key responsibilities
- Access and review medical records to ensure coding accuracy according to quality review policies
- Utilize various technologies for record review, including EMR and scanning methods
- Respond to coder rebuttals in a timely manner as defined by quality review procedures
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of medical coding or review experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (relevant experience may substitute for formal education)
- Active coding credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CIC, or COC
- Commitment to maintain coding credentials while employed
- Ability to pass the coding competency exam
